Faith Promise Missions

Part of our vision at Covenant is "Going". We believe that the whole world needs a Savior.

Because of that commitment to share Christ with the world, each year we make a pledge to support specific missionaries throughout the world. Below are the missionaries we are currently supporting.

Covenant 2016 Faith Promise Mission Support

Tim and Renee work with Barnabas International. They will work as “pastors” to missionaries who serve on different mission fields, to come alongside and encourage them. They will accomplish this by traveling, Skyping, training, and debriefing missionaries from different organizations. In addition, they will begin to bring this kind of support and encouragement to Chinese pastors and church leaders. Tim and Renee have 4 boys – Peter, Jacob, Sam and Calvin.

BORDOGNA, JUSTIN:  Oaxaca, Mexico

Justin works with Wycliffe Bible Translators to provide God’s Word in a language currently without a translation. He will work as part of a translation team to help the indigenous people to translate the Bible. This entails learning an indigenous language, possibly helping develop an alphabet for it, gathering and analyzing linguistic data in preparation for Scripture translation, and helping produce simple books in the language. All this contributes to enabling the indigenous people of Oaxaca to have God’s Word in a language that speaks to their heart.

Larry works with Christian Reformed World Missions as Japan’s team leader. Tokyo is one of the world’s great mega-cities, but Japan is a spiritually dark place, with less than 1% of the people knowing Jesus. Larry works with a cluster of churches, helping them enhance their worship and evangelistic programs. Additionally, he develops plans and budgets, oversees other staff members, manages finances, and does liaison and consultative work with the Japanese church. Since the March 11, 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake, Larry has also become deeply engaged, in partnership with CRWM’s sister agency, World Renew, in support and recovery activities in the disaster zone north of Tokyo. Ruth is director of Christian Academy in Japan's health center, coordinator of the Support Team, and CAJ Middle School special ed teacher. CAJ is a school of about 460 students K-12 that offers Christian education to children of evangelical missionaries and others who seek it.
